We are a mixed-voice, secular community choir serving Roncesvalles/Parkdale/Junction and surrounding communities. We perform two concerts per season as well as guest appearances at other community events, such as “Roncy Rocks" and the Roncesvalles Tree Lighting Ceremony. Music is a mix of pop, contemporary choral, folk, and musical theatre. Our vibe is fun and social, with a focus on community engagement and shared music-making. We have a mix of seasoned choristers and novices, and there are no auditions. We value diversity of gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, education, and political perspective and are open to all. Achill is a 65-member, mixed-voice community choir, which strives to create a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment. We perform a vibrant array of choral music: classical, contemporary, and traditional.

Our artistic director, Shawn Grenke, is also director of music at Eglinton St. George’s United Church in Toronto and collaborative pianist for the Elmer Iseler Singers. Nancy Dettbarn is our outstanding collaborative pianist. This year we celebrate our 40th anniversary and have been invited to perform with a full orchestra at Eglinton St Georges.

From September to May, we rehearse weekly at Westminster United Church in Orangeville, and perform two concert series a year in Alliston, Bolton or Orangeville.

Founded in 1996 by Dan Surman, BFA, B.Ed, the Canadian Celtic Choir is a London-based SATB choir that has built a solid reputation as one of the most in-demand choirs in SW Ontario. Our repertoire features songs primarily from Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, and the Maritimes. Launched in 2010, City Choir is an exciting non-auditioned SATB choir. We have five founding Directors - Waleed Abdulhamid, John Millard, Patricia O’Callaghan, Greg Oh, and Suba Sankaran, who are joined this year by Sophia Grigoriadis.

Open to all who love to sing, we perform music of many styles, as well as original compositions. We give two concerts and two cabarets a year. We have sung at the Tranzac Club, the Drake Underground, the Aga Khan Museum and Ismaili Centre, with the Mixed Choir in “Apocalypsis” (Luminato Festival), and in the “SING!” a Cappella Festival. The Cummer Avenue United Church choir has returned to our newly renovated building at the corner of Cummer Ave. and Yonge St. Final work on the building, including the refurbishment of our three manual Casavant pipe organ is to be completed this spring. Echo performs at city-wide grassroots events, and traditionally holds Fall and Spring concerts. Echo aims to build a community with a strong, varied, and vibrant singing culture. Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC) is an inclusive, SATB, auditioned choir dedicated to celebrating the art and joy of choral singing. We offer performances of diverse repertoire, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions and popular music.

Exultate Chamber Singers is an auditioned group of 30 skilled singers who perform a wide range of chamber choir repertoire, both a cappella and accompanied, including many works by Canadian composers. Healey Willan Singers is a chamber women's ensemble that rehearses and performs in the west end of Toronto. The Jubilate Singers is a mixed-voice auditioned choir of 30-35 voices under the direction of Isabel Bernaus. Delighting audiences since 1993, the Karen Schuessler Singers (KSS) is one of Southwestern Ontario’s premier concert choirs.

Well known for its widely varied, accessible and innovative programming, KSS is led by founder and artistic director Karen Schuessler. Initially formed to perform Missa Gaia/Earth Mass, the choir has become a highly-respected performing arts ensemble of 50 professionally diverse and vocally dynamic singers, all sharing their passion for choral music.

Music is central to worship at Leaside United Church. The rich music program includes the Chancel Choir and the Junior Choir.

The Chancel Choir consists of a group of approximately 20 voices. This includes a professional core and volunteer singers. The choir provides musical leadership at the Sunday 10:30am weekly worship services, and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

The Junior Choir, under the leadership of Nancy Stewart, provides musical leadership and sings anthems several times a year. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:15pm.

London Pro Musica Choir (LPMC) was founded in 1970 as a chamber choir, organized and run by its members. We were the first, and remain the oldest, unaffiliated concert choir in London with a current membership of over 40 singers. LPMC has been led by some of Canada’s finest conductors, including Brian Jackson, Howard Dyck, Ken Fleet, Dr. Vicki St. Pierre, and Dr. Charlene Pauls. Milton Choristers are a four-part adult community choir who have entertained audiences in the Halton Region for over 55 years. Our season runs from September to May with two major concerts, often including premium guest soloists and musicians. We sing a wide-ranging repertoire from classical to contemporary. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Knox Presbyterian Church, 170 Main St. East in Milton. A love of singing, some sight reading, a sense of rhythm, as well as a sense of humour are definite assets.

The North Halton Community Singers, with some 65 amateur singers, started in 1971. Rehearsals are at the Acton Heritage Town Hall every Monday night and we perform at various venues in Halton Hills. The choir is led by music director Eleanor Wallace who has had a long and distinguished career as a music teacher in Georgetown and Oakville. Mark Peterson, a very accomplished musician, is our accompanist.

A non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers, the North Halton Community Singers is a registered charity performing a variety of musical genres, including classical, pop and folk, and from sacred to secular. It has performed at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall, the Mississauga Living Arts Centre, and also in Holland and Ireland.

Oriana is an auditioned ensemble of 24 amateur upper-voice singers who perform at a high artistic standard. The choir has a 50-year history, and this is our 14th season with artistic director Mitchell Pady at the helm. Oriana explores the possibilities in choral music for upper voices, collaborating with diverse artists to push the boundaries of typical musical expectations for upper-voice choirs. We foster the creation of Canadian choral music, regularly commissioning works from Canadian composers. The 65-voice choir, under newly-appointed artistic director Thomas Burton, champions the new and unusual in choral performance, commissioning and introducing new works and performing overlooked masterpieces. Orpheus has introduced audiences to many accessible works from the current generation of leading composers. Pax Christi Chorale is a 100-voice auditioned choir that attracts a diverse base of passionate singers from across the GTA. We value partnerships and connections to enhance our knowledge, expand our reach, and strengthen relationships within and outside the choral community. Under the artistic direction of Dr. Elaine Choi, Pax Christi Chorale presents five concerts in 2024/25, including “Christmas Through the Ages”, Bruckner’s Mass in E Minor with the University of Toronto Wind Ensemble and the premiere of We are Phoenix, a commission by Timothy Takach. The Peterborough Singers was founded in 1993 under the energetic and creative leadership of director Sydney Birrell. We are an auditioned 100-voice choir of adults and youth which attracts members and audiences from Peterborough, the Kawarthas, and around the Lakeshore. We are committed to featuring new talent and each season introduce one or more emerging Canadian soloists.

We perform four concerts each year: a Yuletide concert, Handel’s Messiah, an oratorio, and one concert dedicated to music outside the box of regular classical programming. For the 2024/25 season, we will be performing Mozart’s Requiem and the music of ABBA.

All voice, no limits! SoundCrowd is an auditioned community a cappella ensemble led by Founder and Artistic Director Scott Pietrangelo, with a maximum of 80 members. Solo and small group opportunities are open to all members for consideration each year. Toronto Chamber Choir has held a prominent place in Canada’s early music scene since 1968. An accomplished group of 30-40 auditioned singers, TCC specializes in Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, working with period instrumentalists, but also exploring music from other time periods and cultures. TCC usually gives two evening concerts and two afternoon “Kaffeemusiks” that contextualize our repertoire through narration and a multimedia component.

Rehearsals happen Wednesday evenings with occasional Saturday “retreats” featuring guest presenters. Adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols that are subject to continuous review, we rehearse at Church of the Transfiguration. We are currently seeking new members. Founded in 1978 by Jean Ashworth Bartle, the Toronto Children’s Chorus (TCC) is a vibrant musical community that has been nurturing young voices for 46 seasons. Over the course of its history, the TCC has won numerous competitions and performed at such revered venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, and The Dom in Salzburg. In addition to their busy annual concert seasons, our young choral ambassadors have represented Canada on 31 international tours and seven national tours, most recently performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City in July 2023. After 15 years of artistic direction under Elise Bradley, MNZM, the organization welcomed Artistic Director Zimfira Poloz in the fall of 2022 to lead this world-renowned chorus comprised of over 300 young singers.

With the vision of maestro Jean-Sébastien Vallée steering their 2024/25 season, expect a lineup of groundbreaking performances, including standout collaborations with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Through its performances, educational programs, and community engagement, the TMChoir aspires to introduce audiences to choral masterworks from the past and present - making both renowned and lesser-known pieces available, accessible, and inspirational to all. Within the 160-voice TMChoir is a core ensemble of 24 professional singers known as the Toronto Mendelssohn Singers. The choir will hold its annual auditions in May and August of 2024 and invites all to join its dynamic community of singers.

The Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 by its founding member and first president, Gwyn Roberts. The choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and his principal accompanist, Matthew Coons. Our blend of traditional and contemporary music, all sung off book in accordance with tradition, appeals to a broad audience.

In September 2017, the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir was invited to perform at the NAFOW (North American Festival of Wales) Gala in Rochester, New York as the featured guest choir. The next travel stop was Newfoundland, in Atlantic Canada in July 2018; we performed four concerts in the east coast of this great country. In July 2024, the TWMVC will perform for the Collingwood Music Festival. We seek to continue to grow by attracting new members!

Univox is a mixed-voice non-auditioned community choir for young adults. It serves the Bloordale community and the City of Toronto by offering spirited performances of choral music, both old and new. Performed works are primarily a cappella and span a wide range of the choral spectrum; Renaissance madrigals and motets, choral classics, modern composition, spirituals, and international folk songs.

The singers come from a diverse range of musical backgrounds; most have sung in choirs at different times in their lives. Univox aims to fill the niche for young adults who wish to continue to have a rewarding choral experience with others in their age group.

The Upper Canada Choristers is a mixed-voice community choir with a diverse, inclusive membership that interweaves fun with the commitment to musical excellence and vibrant community service. Past performances have featured collaborations with international choirs, local children’s choirs, professional instrumentalists and singers. Cantemos is an auditioned a cappella Latin ensemble within UCC. Led by Artistic Director, Laurie Evan Fraser, the choirs perform two varied choral programs annually. Weekly rehearsals for the Main Choir are Monday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Grace Church on-the-Hill, 300 Lonsdale Road.

Cantemos rehearsals are generally on Saturdays. Since 2020, the choir has streamed rehearsals on Zoom and produced live-streamed concerts that are accessible on our website.

Vesnivka Choir, award-winning women’s ensemble established in 1965 by founding artistic director Halyna Kvitka Kondracki, has delighted audiences with its rich repertoire of Ukrainian liturgical, classical and traditional folk music. Its regular concert season comprises three major concerts in the GTA, including its popular annual Christmas concert. Vesnivka, together with its partner Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir (TUMCC), are often joined by area musicians and professional soloists. We are pleased to introduce co-conductor Nazar Lozynskyy. New singers for both choirs are welcome throughout the year; if interested, please contact us via the website. Regular rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings at Trident Banquet & Conference Centre, 145 Evans Avenue, Toronto, 7pm to 9pm (Vesnivka); 7:30pm to 9pm (TUMCC).

VIVA Singers Toronto is a not-for-profit family of choirs with a mandate to give members, ages four through adult, the opportunity to achieve artistic excellence in a singer-centred, collaborative choral community.

VIVA offers diverse musical programming - including regular performance and international touring opportunities, partnerships with distinguished musicians and composers, chorister composition programs, musical literacy, Orff-based creation activities, and an annual fall Performing Arts Camp.
