Intersection is an annual multi-day festival that celebrates musical experimentation, and confronts people in their own environment, on common ground. The festival unites the creative energy of Toronto-based musical artists and collectives from numerous disparate experimental music communities along with visiting special guest artists. Through installations, improvisations, compositions, and performance pieces, as well as our flagship all-day music marathon at Yonge-Dundas Square, Intersection connects both active and passive audiences with contemporary music-making. We are passionate about our accessible, barrier-free philosophy that engages folks who may otherwise never experience contemporary music and aim to bring these artists and their audiences together to spark a dialogue and build a stronger community.

Brott Music Festival is one of Hamilton’s four cornerstone arts organizations and has been delighting audiences for 35 years. Its summer of live, in-theatre concerts begins June 30th as Trudel makes his debut as interim artistic director with Beethoven’s “Ninth”, a program dedicated to the memory of Boris Brott. The Festival ends its summer season with a fully staged production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music.

Audiences will also look forward to hearing the sounds of PopOpera, the Italian opera La Cenerentola (Cinderella), festival favourite Valerie Tryon and the Festival’s debut at the new Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre, an evening of Frank Sinatra classics and a night to revisit the 70s and 80s with ABBA with “Jeans ‘n Classics”.

Leith Summer Festival and artistic director Robert Kortgaard present five concerts in the summer in the Historic Leith Church, 12km from Owen Sound. Leith Church is an intimate venue with excellent acoustics. The Festival begins on Saturday, June 25 with VC2, a cello duo, performing repertoire inspired by Beethoven. Sunday, July 10, Patricia O'Callaghan, soprano, with Robert Kortgaard, piano, and Andrew Downing, bass, present classical, cabaret and jazz gems. Sunday, July 24, Jonathan Crow, violin, and Phillip Chiu, piano, perform a program of French music. Saturday, August 6, Paul Novotny, bass and Robi Botos, piano focus on the music of summertime. Sunday, August 21, Agne Radzeviciute and Dmitri Levkovich, piano duo, play classical romantic and turbulent duets and solos. Tickets are $35 at www.roxytheatre.ca.

Music Mondays has served as a launching pad for emerging talent, and celebration of established local talent since its inception in 1992. Our pay-what-you-can lunchtime concerts take place in the warm acoustics of Holy Trinity Church, just steps away from the Eaton Centre, in busy downtown Toronto.

Our goal is to provide the highest possible musical experience to a pay-what-you-can downtown Toronto audience. Our audience includes office workers, tourists, retired folks, young children, the homeless, students and the musically curious. The acoustics of Holy Trinity are very special - warm and inviting. Live concerts are back! Please join us for this, our 31st season. Bring your lunch – and a friend – every Monday at 12:15pm from June 6th to Labour Day, September 5th!

Brookside Music's 2022 Festival of the Bay in Midland is looking forward to a variety of musical summer evenings both indoors and out.

This year the Festival will consist of five glorious indoor concerts featuring world class performers held at both the Midland Cultural Centre and the Alliance Church, and scattered between them will be four FREE outdoor events to be enjoyed on the lawn behind the Calvary Baptist Church.

Summer Opera Lyric Theatre (SOLT) was founded in 1986 with a mandate to promote musical and dramatic education in Canada showcasing artists in all stages of development through a variety of innovative and challenging operatic repertoires.

SOLT brings together young vocalists, students, professional singers and teachers of great stature. Its unique programs combine learning and performing in an environment reflecting the professional operatic world of today. This summer, SOLT brings three great works to the stage: Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Humperdinck's Hansel And Gretel and Menotti's The Consul. A total of 12 performances will be at Alumnae Theatre starting from July 29 until August 7.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Haliburton Highlands in Central Ontario, Highlands Opera Studio provides advanced operatic experience to a select group of talented emerging professionals with the main objective to provide these singers with the necessary skills to embark on a career in opera. Established opera professionals (international artist agents, vocal coaches, general directors of professional opera companies, etc.) are invited to interact with and advise our participants during the intensive season, resulting in new connections, many leading to employment and/or artist representation (national and international). Core activities also include 17 to 19 live public events/performances: multiple performances of 2-3 fully staged operas, 3-4 public masterclasses, 5-6 concerts, and free community events.
