The Music GalleryEstablished in 1976 by members of the Canadian Creative Music Collective (CCMC), the Music Gallery develops, presents and promotes contemporary music in all genres.

Since the beginning, our mandate to foster innovation and experimentation in music has remained constant, and today, we continue to redefine the possibilities for concert music.

The Music Gallery presents festival programming each season, alongside a concert series that includes contributions from guest curators. We also partner on co-productions with other local organisations and artists.

The organisation started in 2001 as Nocturnes at Masaryktown to present Czech and Slovak artists to Canadian audiences.

Initially, the concerts were held at Prague restaurant, and after a few years moved to the Czech community centre in downtown Toronto - located at St. Wenceslaus Church at 496 Gladstone Avenue. In the past 20 years, we presented singers Eva Urbanova, Zdenek Plech, John Holland, Gustav Belacek and others, Panocha, Prazak, Zemlinsky quartets, instrumentalists Anton Kubalek, Boris Krajny, David Kalhous, Ivan Zenaty, Radim Zenkl and others, as well as musical lectures about Karel Ancerl and operatic audio visual presentation by Iain Scott.

For the upcoming season - starting in October - the Zemlinsky Quartet from Prague with clarinettist Peter Stoll present Mozart’s clarinet quintet and Dvorak’s American quartet. For the celebration of the birth of Czechoslovakia, the pianist Jan Cmejla presents works by Janacek, Dvorak and Chopin. In November, we have an operatic program from Prague (John Holland, bass baritone) and a classical jazz concert in December (MIro Letko), and for spring 2024, we present mandolinist and guitarist Radim Zenkl, as well as duo pianists from Prague (TBA). Concerts are of the highest quality and entertaining, with catering always to follow.

Off Centre Music Salon 2022Off Centre Music Salon began as an attempt to find the magical, inclusive atmosphere of the Viennese and Parisian Salons of the 19th Century. Our goal was, and remains, to create an environment where music is intimately shared, concerts tell a story and a personal connection is present for the audience and performers alike. Our programs tell a story. Each concert is unique with repertoire rarely, if ever, repeated, including many Canadian ‘firsts’.

2023/24 marks our 29th season. Please join us at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre (Spadina and Bloor) on Sunday afternoons at 3pm. For more information and concert dates, please visit our website.

Etobicoke Community Concert Band 2021The Etobicoke Community Concert Band is now in its 29th season, providing an eclectic variety of music to please all those who attend our concerts. Under the leadership of our Musical Director and Conductor John Edward Liddle, the band has been able to perform at a range of different venues and cultural events. We are a group of talented volunteer musicians who care about their craft and enjoy entertaining the residents of Etobicoke, as well as other locations when requested.

ECCB is an innovator. In the community music context, it pioneered the idea of a formal series with the finest local guest artists. The use of a Jazz Ensemble that today is equally comfortable at a street festival or sharing the stage with the concert band. We have also formed a classical woodwind quintet and support for youth transitioning from school to community music.

ECCB has shared the stage with recording stars including: True North Brass, Chris Donnelly, Heather Bambrick and Russ Little. It has grown from a scant dozen to over 40 in today's band. We are proud to be our town band.
