Students at the Joy Piano Studio receive meticulous training in the fundamentals — scales, arpeggios, sight reading, ear training and basic theory — and are guided mainly through the classical repertoire. Students are taught to produce sound using the whole body rather than the fingers alone, with a natural position of the hand. Analysis and visualization skills are taught to secure memory and increase confidence in performance. The fundamentals of deep (deliberate) practice are most emphasized and meticulously worked out in class. Limited openings, young beginners (age four and up) welcome.
