The Jubilate Singers is an SATB community choir performing music from a variety of cultural traditions under the direction of Isabel Bernaus. The choir enjoys singing in many different languages and collaborating with other arts organisations representing the cultural diversity of Toronto. A highlight of last season was “Roots and Intersections: Music of the African, Jewish, and Muslim Diasporas”, in collaboration with Denise Williams. In 2023/24 we will present “Music about Music”, on the power of song; an all‒Latin American concert featuring Ariel Ramirez’s Misa criolla with Rodrigo Chavez and Sikuris St. Lawrence; and the Requiems of Aharon Harlap and Gabriel Fauré with orchestra and soloists.
The Jubilate Singers is an auditioned choir with extra support available for those who are not yet ready to audition. We are an inclusive and welcoming choir that works to enhance the musical skills of all its singers, and we are always looking for new members!
