Sinfonia Toronto 2026Acclaimed as “A World-Class Orchestra” (review headline, German tour), Sinfonia Toronto performs all the major works for string orchestra, from Baroque to contemporary, plus many world premieres, especially by Canadian composers. Sinfonia Toronto’s 2026-27 Masterpiece Series will present six concerts in the Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre and one in the Jane Mallett Theatre.

The orchestra’s 13 virtuoso strings play standing, blending each musician’s soloistic energy and passion into a brilliant ensemble style under Nurhan Arman’s inspired direction. The orchestra has toured in Argentina, China, Germany, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and the US and performed in Montreal and cities across Ontario, from Brockville to Sault Ste. Marie.

Sinfonia Toronto’s interactive “Concerts under Construction” program takes live music into TDSB and TCDSB schools in high-needs neighbourhoods. They have recorded eight albums, including a JUNO winner; seven feature works by Canadian composers.

2026-27 soloists include pianists Sheng Cai, Honens Gold Medallist Élisabeth Pion, Theadora Koski and Salzburg artist Heghine Rapyan; violinists Julia Mirzoev, Irmina Trynkos, Nuné Melik and Tina Sievers; oboist Caitlin Broms-Jacobs; and harpist Teresa Suen-Campbell.

Piano Lunaire 2026Based in Toronto and New York City, Piano Lunaire was founded in October 2018 by pianist/composer Adam Sherkin, under a full Hunter's Moon.

Ever pursuing the presentation of artistic excellence in the 21st century, the organization focuses on the engagement of local artists who contribute to the Canadian musical dialogue at large and who highlight the work of Toronto’s musical community.

This year, Piano Lunaire highlights the legacy of Toronto musical icon, honouring his centenary. "The Somers Sonata Pentad" is the culmination of this celebration. The 2026/27 season runs from September 2026 through June 2027, with performances on full moon dates. Programming will span some of the most exciting voices in Canadian new music today, alongside significant works from the international repertoire. This is a unique and intimate opportunity to hear artists who excel at the presentation of vivid new music, rich and representative of our time. Dynamic artworks on the walls and complimentary libations help to provide a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.

The Peterborough Singers is a highly regarded, auditioned ensemble of over 100 voices that sings under the leadership of Artistic Director Shawn Grenke. Dedicated to choral excellence over a wide range of genres, the group attracts singers from a wide radius around Peterborough. Guest conductors and world-class soloists enjoy performing with the Peterborough Singers, and the group regularly commissions works from leading Canadian composers. Each year, the Peterborough Singers presents a well-attended subscription series of four concerts, including a December Messiah performance, an oratorio in the spring, and lighter fare for the November and February/March concerts. The choir also appears at special events throughout the Peterborough community. The group reached the finals of the CBC Radio Choral Competition for Amateur Choirs in 2004, and in 2007 and 2011, we performed evensong at Winchester Cathedral in England. The Singers have also performed at Roy Thomson Hall on several occasions, as well as singing at York Minster Cathedral and Durham Cathedral in England. Our current season will mark over 35 years of bringing excellent choral music to Peterborough and beyond.

Pax Christi Chorale 2026Pax Christi Chorale is a vibrant and dynamic 100-voice auditioned choir that shares its passion for choral music through singing, performance and outreach. Our singers bring to life a diverse range of repertoire that includes both grand choral masterworks and fresh, newly commissioned works. Drawing on a broad base from across the Greater Toronto Area, the choir has built a loyal following and continues to broaden its community and deepen its impact as a leading arts organization in the city. We value partnerships and connections to enhance our knowledge, expand our reach, and strengthen relationships within the choral community. Our overarching aim is to create a welcoming space for the development of choral skills and to share meaningful musical experiences with a wider audience.

Orpheus Choir of Toronto 2026Orpheus’ vision is to celebrate the power of choral music as an agent of social change and a passionate medium of artistic expression. The 65-voice choir, under artistic director Thomas Burton, champions the new and unusual in choral performance, commissioning and introducing new works and performing overlooked masterpieces. Regularly working with living composers and singing a wide range of repertoire in concerts with high production values, Orpheus has introduced audiences to many accessible works from the current generation of leading composers. Orpheus supports young emerging vocal talent through its highly respected Sidgwick Scholars Program and its newer Vocal Apprentice Program for high school singers. Winners of the 2018 Choral Canada Award for Outstanding Innovation, Orpheus continues to present an “expect something different” experience! The 2026/27 season includes a semi-staged production with actor Ramona Gilmour-Darling, a Christmas performance with Dozan World featuring carols from the Levant, Damien Geter's genre-defying Cantata For a More Hopeful Tomorrow, and the world premiere of a new commission, Évangeline by celebrated Métis composer Ian Cusson.
