The Edison Singers 2022Once more, from the top...

When The Edison Singers, a fully professional chamber choir, started in 2019, we were immediately challenged by all the starts-and-stops that every performing arts group faced during the COVID pandemic. So this upcoming season is literally our second new beginning.

Over the next performance year we will embark on two international recordings and present concerts we’ve been polishing and perfecting but unable to perform before a live audience. These include the Fauré and Duruflé Requiems, the Rachmaninoff Vespers (All Night Vigil), a delightful programme of Folksongs & Spirituals, and a luminous Messiah. We will also present our popular concert of Christmas music with many of the carols appearing in our new Christmas CD for Naxos entitled The First Nowell.

Most of these programs will be performed several times in different venues. Our home base is Guelph and Elora but we love to share our concerts with our many patrons in Toronto and Niagara.

With over 150 singers, Mississauga Festival Choir is the largest and most spirited community choir in Mississauga. We first came together in 1984 to celebrate Mississauga's 10th anniversary, and we stayed together to celebrate the joy of singing in a choral community like no other. Our spirited singing springs from our no-audition policy. Everyone who loves to sing is welcome to join us, and audiences hear the joy in every song.

Under the leadership of David Ambrose, MFC performs many concerts, raises money for local charities, records professional CDs, holds an annual choral competition and tours the world.

Wychwood Clarinet ChoirThe Wychwood Clarinet Choir brings together the family of clarinets from E flat sopranino down to contrabass. Our range of instruments is matched by the variety of our repertoire. The choir, now in its 14th season, was founded and directed by conductor and clarinetist Michele Jacot. We perform new compositions and arrangements, many written or transcribed by our Composers’ Collective. Choir members are admitted by audition and pay an annual membership fee.

Choir members are dedicated clarinetists eager to share their love of playing music in a collegial and musically challenging environment. We strive to create opportunities for serious amateur musicians to develop their musical skills and we strive to share our music more broadly in educational settings and in the wider community. The group rehearses on Wednesday evenings and performs on a regular basis in Toronto’s St. Clair and Wychwood area. Check out our YouTube videos and look for updates on our website.

Art of Time EnsembleRenowned concert pianist Andrew Burashko formed Art of Time Ensemble in 1998 by inviting a group of like-minded musicians and prominent figures in dance, theatre and other art forms to perform one-off concerts in Toronto. The company has gone on to become a leader in Toronto’s vibrant performing arts scene, through its subscription season at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre, regular appearances at Koerner Hall, album releases, performances with leading Canadian orchestras, and the tours of its unique offerings to dozens of cities throughout Canada and the United States.

Exploring the relationship between classical music in its many forms and other genres such as jazz, pop, electronica, rock, folk, electroacoustic, gospel and others, Art of Time seeks to reveal the qualities that lie at the heart of all great music.
