Founded in 1972, The Toronto Consort is internationally celebrated for its excellence in the performance of Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Baroque music. For nearly 50 years, The Toronto Consort has continued to expand listeners’ appreciation through inventive programming that breathes life into period music. The ensemble has become internationally recognized for its excellence in live and recorded period music and has collaborated on several high-profile film and television projects including Atom Egoyan’s The Sweet Hereafter and the Showtime series The Tudors and The Borgias.

In November 2020, The Toronto Consort launched EarlyMusic.tv - an on-demand streaming platform dedicated to the music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Baroque. With a world-class catalogue of Early Music masterpieces and free educational content, Early Music TV has been designed for a worldwide digital audience of musicians and music lovers.
