Founded in 1977 by director emeritus Richard Householder, the Windsor Classic Chorale has become a core component of the local arts community, dedicated to achieving artistic excellence by maintaining a high level of musicianship with a rich palette of ambitious choral works. The "WCC" considers it a privilege to perform in the Windsor-Essex County community. Their love for choral music is what brings them together.

Celebrating our 33rd year, Echo is a 30-voice, non-auditioned community choir, open to women from all walks of life. Echo performs at city-wide grassroots events, and traditionally holds Fall and Spring concerts. Echo aims to build a community with a strong, varied, and vibrant singing culture. Repertoire includes music from worldwide village singing traditions and newly commissioned music. Echo keeps membership fees accessible to all.

The Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, specializing in historically informed performances of Baroque and Classical repertoire, was formed in 1981 as a complement to the Tafelmusik Orchestra. Under the direction of its founder, Ivars Taurins, the choir has been praised for its clarity, nuance, and brilliance.

The Yorkminstrels Show Choir is an SATB choir, founded in 1974 as an arm of The Yorkminstrels musical theatre company. We sing mostly Broadway music, with oldies, contemporary and seasonal songs added to the mix. With our repertoire, costumes and movement, the Show Choir has evolved into a unique group. We take entertainment into the community, doing occasional concerts throughout the season at seniors’ residences, and for condo/church/synagogue groups and fundraisers. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at Cummer Lodge in North York, from September through June. A simple audition is required; note-reading is not essential. We are a warm, fun-loving and welcoming group, so if you enjoy singing, learning harmony and performing, we invite you to join us!

Toronto Classical Singers is the only choir in the country dedicated exclusively to the great choral/orchestral repertoire. Now in its 31th season, the organization continues to celebrate and contribute to the tradition of choral music in Canada.

Known for its unique musical point-of-view and its diverse programming, the choir features lesser-known and rarely performed pieces as well as the beloved vocal/orchestral repertoire. Led by founding conductor Jurgen Petrenko, the choir gives audiences the opportunity to experience the majesty of the human voice with the full range of musical possibilities, soloists and orchestra.

If you love singing great music, while having a lot of fun, we invite you to audition. Auditions are usually held in early September with rehearsals on Monday evenings, in mid-town Toronto.

The 65-voice choir, under newly-appointed artistic director Thomas Burton, champions the new and unusual in choral performance, commissioning and introducing new works and performing overlooked masterpieces. Orpheus has introduced audiences to many accessible works from the current generation of leading composers. The choir supports young emerging vocal talent through its highly respected Sidgwick Scholars Program and its newer Vocal Apprentice Program for high school singers. Winners of the 2018 Choral Canada Award for Outstanding Innovation, Orpheus continues to present an “expect something different” experience! The 2024/25 season will feature Ernst Bloch’s Sacred Service, Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, The Atonement by Samuel Coleridge Taylor, and a program for choir and fixed electronics.

Beautiful melodies, rocking sax solos, inspired new jazz arrangements of Handel’s Messiah – if any of this appeals to you, read on. The Waterloo-based Wayne Gilpin Singers is an auditioned (a singer-friendly audition, we promise!) chamber choir that sings a wide variety of music, including contemporary Christian, gospel, show tunes, spirituals and more. Resident composer/accompanist Andrew Gilpin pens unique arrangements for an ever-expanding “Jazz Messiah”, an annual event that twins Handel’s beautiful melodies with modern rhythms and musical styles. Also featured in concert are talented guest artists on bass, drums, saxophone, violin, and guitar, providing an unforgettable musical experience for both audience and choir.

Oriana Singers offers exceptional music experiences for the public through the presentation of choral works, from early music to Broadway, pop and contemporary, commissions and premieres with an emphasis on Canadian content.

The Choir comprises about 60 auditioned voices under the baton of Lynn Janes, noted music educator, soloist and prize-winning conductor, accompanied by pianist, organist and composer Robert Grandy.

Oriana Singers assists in the professional development of area musicians who are featured as guest soloists and instrumentalists, and through collaborations with other cultural organizations. Music education opportunities such as workshops are offered to the broader community, and the Choir maintains a searchable database of its choral library, with scores available for loan or purchase.

The Jubilate Singers is a mixed-voice auditioned choir of 30-35 voices under the direction of Isabel Bernaus. The choir includes in its repertoire world music sung in original languages, orchestral choral works, and 20-21C choral pieces. We present three concerts a year, plus two community appearances. Our 2024/25 season will include a collaboration with the Wychwood Clarinet Choir and an Ontario mini-tour of "Roots and Intersections: Musical Traditions from the African, Jewish and Muslim Diasporas" with Denise Williams and guest musicians. We rehearse Tuesday nights. Interested singers are encouraged to sit in on a rehearsal and book an audition, if desired. Exultate Chamber Singers is an auditioned group of 30 skilled singers who perform a wide range of chamber choir repertoire, both a cappella and accompanied, including many works by Canadian composers. Enriched by its members’ strong musicianship, varied ages, cultural backgrounds, and academic and professional credentials, Exultate forms a passionate, committed ensemble.

Under the direction of artistic director Mark Ramsay, the choir presents an annual four-concert series. In addition, the choir commissions and records new works, collaborates with guest artists, and supports aspiring young music professionals with singing, conducting, and composing opportunities. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church, 383 Huron St. An online application is available on our website.
