Music In the AfternoonThrough its “Music in the Afternoon” concert series, the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto (WMCT) presents chamber music concerts featuring musicians on the threshold of international recognition, as well as established artists and ensembles. Concerts are held Thursday afternoons at 1:30pm at Walter Hall, University of Toronto, Faculty of Music, 80 Queen’s Park.

This year the WMCT celebrates its 125th season: Connection & Continuity. Concerts include our 2021 Career Development Award winner Michael Bridge, accordion, with Ladom Ensemble and Joseph Macerollo, accordion (October 6, 2022); Quatuor Despax with Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, viola, and Brian Manker, cello (November 17, 2022); Fjóla Evans, composer/curator, with Aizuri Quartet, VC2 Cello Duo, Talisa Blackman, piano and Krista Kais-Prial, vocalist (February 23, 2023); Marion Newman, mezzo-soprano, with Melody Courage, soprano, Evan Korbut, baritone, and Gordon Gerrard, piano (April 6, 2023); Mark Fewer, violin, with Thalea String Quartet, Chris Whitley, violin, and Jeanie Chung, piano (May 4, 2023).
