Tafelmusik: Zelenka and Bach, Friday April 29

At the end of the month, premier early-music group Tafelmusik presents a pairing of Bach’s Wedding Cantata and Czech composer Jan Dismas Zelenka’s Missa Omnium Sanctorum. The show features German soprano Dorothee Mields, as well as the winners of the first-ever Tafelmusik Vocal Competition, who auditioned for the roles in January of this year: Kim Leeds, mezzo-soprano, Jacques-Olivier Chartier, tenor, and Jonathan Woody, bass-baritone. The show will be a promising mixture of established and emerging talent, in two powerful works.

For a chance to win tickets to the Friday, April 29 performance of this concert, fill out your information and answer the following question:

There has been much debate among scholars about the origins of Bach’s Wedding Cantata, which remain unknown. Many believe that the piece was written for the wedding of his friend and was sung by his second wife, who was a soprano. What is the name of J.S. Bach’s second wife?
