Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra 2022The Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) is pleased to present our 2022/23 season of live concerts and digital content. In addition to great classical works, this season represents the diversity of our amazing community through our music programming, including many new works by Canadian composers and New Generation artists. Our May concert will also include the launch of a brand new SPO CD. Season passes and/or individual tickets are available to purchase through our website, or at the door. Lots of free parking is often available in the area of our concert locations, so it's worth the trip to Scarborough to enjoy great classical music from our high-calibre ensembles. Downtown Sound. Metropolitan United Church 2022Accepting, affirming and welcoming to everyone, Metropolitan United Church at Queen and Church Streets has a 200-year history of presenting great sacred music in the heart of Toronto. Under the leadership of Minister of Music Jonathan Oldengarm, our ensembles include the Adult, Children's (director Jennifer Martyn), and Handbell Choirs, the Metropolitan Silver Band (est. 1934, and directed by Fran Harvey), and the Great Heart youth ensemble (director Ben Stein). Our collection of instruments includes Canada's largest pipe organ, installed in 1930 by Casavant Frères of Quebec; the 54-bell Massey/Drury Carillon (Roy Lee, carillonneur); a portative organ (by Becker of Hamburg); and a Steinway grand piano. In addition to great music every Sunday morning, our beautiful neo-gothic sanctuary hosts two concert series including Music at Met and Noon at Met (Thursdays at 12pm September to November, and February to June). Our Christmas Lessons and Carols service and Good Friday evening Choral Concert are particular annual highlights for many Torontonians. Visit us in person, go to our website and/or YouTube channel.

VIVA Singers 2022VIVA Singers Toronto is a not-for-profit family of seven choirs, for singers ages four through adult, committed to the belief that Every Voice Matters! VIVA offers exceptional programming by "doing choir differently", embracing choral music artistry through chorister creation, innovative vocal programming, inclusive practices, and developing strong community connections.

Unique to VIVA are a renowned and inspiring Inclusion Program for teens and adults with disabilities, and a Choral Leadership and Mentoring Program. VIVA is proud to be the Associate Choir of the Elmer Iseler Singers, and The National Ballet of Canada's official children's choir.

Membership in VIVA includes regular performances; creation-based curriculum; music literacy education; youth Performing Arts Camp; commissions and partnerships with distinguished composers, musicians, and organisations; and international touring opportunities.

We continue to advocate for all voices, and push for inclusivity to ensure that anyone who enjoys music is welcomed - and challenged - at VIVA.

The Hannaford Street Silver BandThe Hannaford Street Silver Band is Canada’s award-winning professional brass band and resident company of Toronto’s St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts. Its mission is to honour the traditions of this art form and place it in a contemporary context with a unique, Canadian point-of-view. We actively facilitate innovative creative projects and collaborate with the best of Canada’s diverse artists.

Our 2022/23 season features brass repertoire gems, paired with new music played with the verve and virtuosity you expect from the Hannaford Band: “Love Songs and other optimistic notions” on October 30 features Barbara Assiginaak with guest conductor Jean-Michel Malouf; “A Harmonious Holiday” is on Tuesday, December 6th at Metropolitan United Church with Forte, the Toronto Gay Men’s Chorus; “Dearly, Life, Love and Margaret Atwood” on Sunday, February 12 features Measha Brueggergosm-Lee, and our season concludes on Saturday May 13th with “A Concert of Community” - the marquee event of the Great Canadian Brass Band Festival.

The HSSB demonstrates its commitment to youth, outreach and education by running the Hannaford Youth Program. This vibrant program is a fantastic opportunity for brass and percussion players ages 7 to 24.
