Under The Spire Music Festival 2022Presented by the Confederation Bridge, Under the Spire Music Festival (USMF) offers a summer long series of concerts in a magnificent heritage church located in idyllic rural Prince Edward Island. This former church was built for music by famed PEI architect William Critchlow Harris, who took his inspiration from the inside of a violin. Today the exceptional acoustics in the space have gained an international reputation, making it a favourite for both performers and their fans alike. Now entering its 27th season in 2022, this summer-long festival attracts thousands of music lovers annually to the acoustically perfect Historic St. Mary’s. Westben Centre for Creativity 2022Now in its 23rd season, Westben is where music comes to life amidst breathtaking nature. Located near Campbellford, two hours east of Toronto, Westben’s summer festival features over 30 performances of classical, broadway, jazz, pop, fiddle, roots and comedy with Canadian Brass, Brian Finley, Eve Parker Finley, Adam Fisher, Karina Gauvin, Ofra Harnoy, Michael Kaeshammer, Sarah Lewis, Barbra Lica, Natalie MacMaster, David Maracle, OKAN, Joel Plaskett, William Prince, Queer Songbook Orchestra, Suzie Ungerleider,Julian Taylor, Mary Walsh, Carol Welsman, Caitlin Wood. Since 2010, the CCCTIMF has established a solid name as one of the most reputable and high-profile music festivals in Canada. The festival is held in recognition of the artistic achievements of young musicians, providing them with the opportunity to learn, grow and showcase their potential in performance. The summer of Canada’s sesquicentennial brings with it a diverse range of musical opportunities to choose from. Here you will find brief profiles of 47 distinct summer festivals and/or concert series, provided by the presenters themselves. These listings are published in the special summer listings section of our June 2017 issue, while our online version of this guide lives here, at www.thewholenote.com/green. Festival profiles have been supplemented with photos, videos, links to social media and more, and information will be updated on an ongoing basis.
