Etobicoke Community Concert Band 2021The Etobicoke Community Concert Band is now in its 29th season, providing an eclectic variety of music to please all those who attend our concerts. Under the leadership of our Musical Director and Conductor John Edward Liddle, the band has been able to perform at a range of different venues and cultural events. We are a group of talented volunteer musicians who care about their craft and enjoy entertaining the residents of Etobicoke, as well as other locations when requested.

ECCB is an innovator. In the community music context, it pioneered the idea of a formal series with the finest local guest artists. The use of a Jazz Ensemble that today is equally comfortable at a street festival or sharing the stage with the concert band. We have also formed a classical woodwind quintet and support for youth transitioning from school to community music.

ECCB has shared the stage with recording stars including: True North Brass, Chris Donnelly, Heather Bambrick and Russ Little. It has grown from a scant dozen to over 40 in today's band. We are proud to be our town band.

HCA Dance Theatre 2023HCA Dance Theatre, a non-profit arts organisation, housed in the historical building of Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, Hamilton, presents and produces a variety of performance arts events with an impressive mix of genres, styles and cultural diversity. Now in its 23rd year, HCA Dance Theatre has a more extensive lineup for the new season than ever before.

The new season opens in September with the first event on Saturday, September 30th.

Through our four flagship programs PASS, Dusk Dances, Field Trips and Together in Arts, we accomplish our mission of bringing arts to the community, empowering artists and supporting community wellbeing through the Arts. We believe the arts belong to everyone!

Music at St. Thomas's Anglican Church 2023St. Thomas’s music program elevates our worship, freely offering the gift of music to anyone coming through our doors (physically, or virtually via livestream). Music creates community and meaningful connection as we attract skilled choristers and other musicians, feature guest artists from our parish and beyond, and welcome all who come to hear them. Under the leadership of Interim Director of Music Elizabeth Anderson, choral and organ music are offered at the 9:30am Sung Mass, at the 11am High Mass, and at Evensong and Devotions at 5pm Evensong, a service of prayers and music, features the great heritage of Anglican sacred music as sung in British cathedrals. We welcome experienced choristers who value a high standard of ensemble singing to audition by contacting eanderson@stthomas.on.ca.

We have launched a choral program for children with unchanged voices, ages seven and up. The St. Thomas’s Choristers rehearse after school one day a week and sing at the 9:30am Sung Mass. Our vision is inspired by programs in cathedrals, parish churches, and academic colleges across the UK and North America. Children will be provided with a free comprehensive music education, with a focus on sacred repertoire. Contact mpiazza@stthomas.on.ca. Finally, through our Friends of Music (honorary co-chairs Molly Johnson and Larry Beckwith), we host concerts and lecture-recitals featuring a variety of celebrated artists. The choirs also present occasional concerts, and our Advent carol services are a much-loved tradition.

Toronto Childrens Chorus 2023The Toronto Children's Chorus (TCC) is a vibrant musical community that has been nurturing young voices for generations. Through exceptional choral training and performance experiences, they inspire growth, teamwork, and artistic excellence.

Founded in 1978 by Jean Ashworth Bartle, the TCC is now celebrating its 46th concert season with Artistic Director, Dr. Zimfira Poloz. The TCC have won numerous competitions, including the International Eisteddfod in Wales and the CBC, Kathaumixw, and Let the Peoples Sing Competitions in Canada. The Chorus has also performed at such revered venues as the Kennedy Center, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, The Dom in Salzburg, and most recently, Carnegie Hall. In addition to their busy annual concert seasons, their young choral ambassadors have represented Canada on 31 international tours and seven national tours.

The theme for the 2023/24 season is "Kaleidoscope: Let Your Light Shine!" symbolising a commitment to celebrating each chorister's uniqueness and highlighting the shared beauty and connection that emerges when one embraces their true selves.

This year’s 152-profile portrait of musical life in the Greater Toronto area and Southern Ontario has two segments: section 1 reflects the wealth and diversity of music presenters and performers in our region – orchestras, choirs, opera companies, chamber ensembles, etcetera; section 2 is for individuals and organisations providing services to artists in the communities we cover, predominantly artist managers and publicists.
