Toronto Classical Singers 2023Toronto Classical Singers is the only choir in the country dedicated exclusively to the great choral/orchestral repertoire. Now in its 30th season, the organization continues to celebrate and contribute to the tradition of choral music in Canada.

Known for its unique musical point-of-view and its diverse and high-quality programming, the choir features lesser-known and rarely performed pieces as well as the beloved vocal/orchestral repertoire. Led by founding conductor Jurgen Petrenko, the choir gives audiences the opportunity to experience the power and majesty of the human voice featuring the full range of musical possibilities, with soloists and orchestra.

We invite singers to audition, tenors especially. Auditions are usually held in early September with rehearsals on Monday evenings, in mid-town Toronto.

The Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 by its founding member and first president, Gwyn Roberts. The choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and his principal accompanist, Matthew Coons. Our blend of traditional and contemporary music, all sung off book in accordance with tradition, appeals to a broad audience. In September 2017, the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir was invited to perform at the NAFOW (North American Festival of Wales) Gala in Rochester, New York as the featured guest choir. The next travel stop was Newfoundland, in Atlantic Canada in July 2018; we performed four concerts in the east coast of this great country. The Choir is proud of its accomplishments and seeks to continue to grow by attracting new members and supporters.

The Edison Singers 2023The Edison Singers, a fully professional chamber choir, began in 2019 and were immediately challenged by the starts-and-stops that all performing arts groups faced during the pandemic.

So our 2022/23 season was literally our second new beginning. In November 2022, our first international recording was released under the NAXOS label and titled The First Nowell. The recording received a 4* review in the BBC Magazine. Concerts of Rachmaninoff's Vespers and a delightful offering of Folksongs & Spirituals, rounds out the season.

2023/24 will see Verdi's Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, 'Winter Carols', MacMillan's Seven Last Words, and a Western/Indigenous crosscultural weekend forum of chats and music.

We have an outstanding ensemble of singers - their energy, spirit and commitment to our choir is remarkable and truly inspiring.
