Entering into our 50th year of enlivening Toronto's arts community, the award-winning, semi-professional Amadeus Choir consists of auditioned voices from Toronto and surrounding areas. The Choir champions the best of choral music and premieres works of Canadian and international composers through a self-produced Toronto concert series, guest performances, and special events. Known well beyond Toronto through tours, festivals, recordings, and national and international radio broadcasts, the Choir collaborates with many professional performing arts organizations in the GTA. Led by artistic director Kathleen Allan, The Amadeus Choir is proud to take a leading role in educating the next generation of choral musicians by providing workshops for conductors, composers, and students.

Now in its 55th season, Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC) is an auditioned SATB community choir that enriches both choristers and audiences with inspired performances of diverse repertoire, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions and popular music.

ECC offers a challenging and supportive choral experience, facilitated by our music director, collaborative accompanist and professional section leads. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday, September to June, from 7:30pm to 9:45pm at Humber Valley United Church in Etobicoke. New singers are always welcome! Some choral experience and the ability to read music is required.

After a joyous and successful return to live performance, plans for another exciting season of music-making in 2023/24 are being finalized.

The VOCA Chorus of Toronto, a dynamic, auditioned ensemble under the direction of Jenny Crober, performs a wide range of repertoire (including Canadian premieres) in collaboration with superb guest artists. VOCA's season consists of concerts, cabaret fundraisers, outreach performances and workshops. Clinicians have included composer Ola Gjeilo, conductor Ivars Taurins and jazz vocalist Dylan Bell.

VOCA will feature a recently commissioned (and just published) work by JUNO-nominated composer Andrew Balfour, along with other contemporary, jazz and musical theatre selections at our "Shining Night" concert, with guests Colleen Allen, sax; Shawn Grenke, organ; and Jamie Drake, percussion. We will also be performing in Roy Thomson Hall’s Choir and Organ Concert series in April 2023. Rehearsals are on Mondays at Eastminster.

Under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Zimfira Poloz, the Toronto Children’s Chorus is recognized worldwide as a leading choral organization for children and youth. We are committed to offering exceptional choral music education, while cultivating collaboration, leadership, self-discipline, and commitment to excellence. We have four distinct programs: KinderNotes, Training Choirs, Main Choir and Toronto Youth Choir.

Our season runs from September to June. Rehearsals are held on weekday afternoons and evenings. Choristers enjoy exceptional performance opportunities, and our Main and Youth Choir collaborate with esteemed arts organizations like the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Auditions are held in the spring and the fall.

Oriana is an auditioned ensemble of 24 amateur upper-voice singers who perform at a high artistic standard. The choir has a 50-year history, and this is our 12th season with artistic director Mitchell Pady at the helm. Oriana explores the possibilities in choral music for upper voices, collaborating with diverse artists to push the boundaries of typical musical expectations for upper-voice choirs. We foster the creation of Canadian choral music, regularly commissioning works from Canadian composers. In rehearsal we are focused but friendly, and maintain an inclusive, respectful and supportive environment. Oriana presents a three-concert series every year, and we welcome potential new singers to attend a rehearsal prior to scheduling an audition. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 7:30pm to 10pm in the Sheppard-Yonge corridor.

The Cummer Avenue United Church choir has returned to our newly renovated building at the corner of Cummer Ave. and Yonge St. Final work on the building, including the refurbishment of our three manual Casavant pipe organ is to be completed this spring. We are a group of volunteer singers, supported by professional section-leads, that provide strong musical leadership for Sunday morning worship services throughout the year. We offer a flexible program with a combination of small group ensembles and full choir. Plans are also in place for concerts and other musical events encompassing a wide range of musical styles.

Vesnivka Choir, award-winning women’s ensemble established in 1965 by founding artistic director Halyna Kvitka Kondracki, has delighted audiences with its rich repertoire of Ukrainian liturgical, classical and traditional folk music. Its regular concert season comprises three major concerts in the GTA including its popular annual Christmas concert. Vesnivka, together with its partner Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir (TUMCC), are often joined by area musicians and professional soloists. New singers for both choirs are welcome. Regular rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings at Trident Banquet and Conference Centre, 145 Evans Avenue, Toronto, 7pm to 9pm (Vesnivka); 7:30pm to 9pm (TUMCC).

The Toronto Choral Society has been an integral part of Toronto’s history for more than 175 years. In order to go forward with the highest level of integrity, authenticity and good humour we need to expand our membership. Our new season begins in September, we will be preparing for our traditional Christmas concert (Koerner Hall) as well as a Spring concert of show tunes. We aspire to creatively reflect Toronto’s diverse culture through our music.
