Our program will examine a 19th-century operatic approach from a composer who was also a librettist for Giuseppe Verdi’s operas Otello and Falstaff. A selection of recordings (both audio and video) will be presented highlighting the diversity of Schubert’s compositions across many genres. Mar 27 6:30: Royal Conservatory. The Orchestra Di Piazzo Vittorio. Directed by Agostino Ferrente. Under Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, the arts scene in Rome suffered. With blatant racism on the rise, the chances of thriving as an immigrant and artist in Italy were slim. So, when a multi-ethnic orchestra, Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, sprang into being in 2002, it hit the headlines. Members of the New Canadian Global Music Orchestra will participate in post-screening performance and Q&A.
