Canadian Opera Company. Summer Music Camps. Jul 21–25: Intermediate Company (entering Grades 6–8). Jul 28–Aug 1: Senior Company (entering Grade 9 to 1st year college/university). Times: 9am–3:30pm (Grades 1–8); 9am–3pm (Senior Company). Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, 145 Queen St. W. Target: Children and teens, ages 6–18. The COC’s Summer Music Camps invite young creatives from grade 1 through first year university to learn about music, drama, and design. Participants are supported in a creative and non-competitive environment where they learn and experiment with several modes of artistic expression, including singing, composing, movement, drama, and design. In creating their own original work, campers are guided by the COC’s roster of teaching artists, highly skilled professionals in their respective fields, culminating in a final showcase performance for family and friends. No previous experience with music required. Tuition: $395. Registration for each company is available until the Friday before their first day.
