In just seven years, CMF has grown into more than a festival. It has become a cultural tradition, bringing artists, audiences, students, donors, volunteers, and community partners together through the shared experience of live music, transforming the cultural landscape of South Georgian Bay.
Festival audiences have experienced unforgettable artistic milestones, from the Canadian premiere of Jeremy Dutcher with the National Academy Orchestra (2023) to multimedia productions including Scheherazade (2021) and Postcards Lost (2024). CMF has introduced audiences to rising artists such as the Rolston String Quartet and Kuné, Canada’s Global Orchestra, and presented acclaimed performers and ensembles including Boris Brott, Alain Trudel, Mayumi Seiler, Patricia Cano, Gino Quilico, the Gryphon Trio, Payadora Tango, and the Elmer Iseler Singers.
CMF has also become a home for new Canadian music by commissioning and presenting contemporary composers, ensuring each season offers audiences something they cannot experience anywhere else.
And at the heart of the Festival’s future is the CMF Youth Academy. Through mentorship, performance, and artistic discovery, the Academy nurtures the next generation of Canadian musicians.
