Amadeus ChoirThe Amadeus Choir enlivens Toronto’s arts landscape through energetic performances, diverse repertoire, and imaginative artistic collaborations. Led by Artistic Director Kathleen Allan, the Amadeus Choir has been a vibrant part of Toronto’s music community for more than 50 years and consists of over 100 skilled community singers, professional singers, and emerging artists. The Choir presents ambitious programs spanning centuries, genres, and musical traditions, while championing the work of Canadian and international composers and artists.

The 2026-27 season invites audiences to experience the breadth of what a choir can be, guided by a spirit of curiosity and collaboration. The season opens at the historic Eglinton Grand with Lon Chaney’s 1925 silent horror classic, The Phantom of the Opera, featuring a new score by JUNO Award-winning composer and bassist Andrew Downing, performed live with his all-star jazz ensemble. In December, the Amadeus Choir partners with the Nathaniel Dett Chorale for “Indigo Christmas”, a Gospel Christmas celebration. The season concludes with “Seeing Double”, exploring two centuries of music for double choir and piano, including Jonathan Dove’s luminous major work, The Passing of the Year.
