"An act or process of merging" - Confluence produces joyous, daring and thought-provoking concerts in a warm atmosphere of intimacy and discovery. Artistic Associates Larry Beckwith, Andrew Downing, Teiya Kasahara, Patricia O'Callaghan, and Suba Sankaran curate a variety of lively programs. 2023/24 shows include new and traditional Irish music curated and performed by Patricia O’Callaghan and friends; the premiere of new settings of Canadian poetry by Toronto composer James Rolfe; the 20th-anniversary celebration of Autorickshaw’s unique Indo-Fusion music; a special performance by our 2023/24 Young Artistic Associates, KöNG Duo, reflecting on memories of their native Hong Kong; a queer re-imagining of Schumann’s romantic song cycle, Dichterliebe, by singer Teiya Kasahara and pianist David Eliakis; Andrew Downing’s show featuring hidden gems by Toronto-area singer-songwriters; and a season-ending program of favourites from the whole team.
