The Hannaford Street Silver Band is Canada’s award-winning professional brass band and resident company of Toronto’s St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts. Its mission is to honour the traditions of this art form and place it in a contemporary context with a unique, Canadian point-of-view.

Our 2023/24 season features brass repertoire gems, paired with new music played with the verve and virtuosity you expect from the Hannaford Band: “La Trompette Française” on October 29, 2023 at Jane Mallett Theatre, features Robert Weymouth trumpet with guest conductor Jean-Michel Malouf; “Silver and Gold” is on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the George Weston Recital Hall with the Amadeus Choir;" Band Together" is a free Family Day event at Metropolitan United Church on Monday February 19, 2024; “Dearly, Life, Love and Margaret Atwood” on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Jane Mallet Theatre, features Measha Brueggergosm-Lee, and our season concludes on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at MacMillan Theatre with “A Concert of Community” - the marquee event of the Great Canadian Brass Band Festival.

The HSSB demonstrates its commitment to youth, outreach and education by running the Hannaford Youth Program. This vibrant program is a fantastic opportunity for brass and percussion players ages 7 to 24.
