The second half of our season begins on February 13th and 14th with Centuries of Souls II curated by Confluence Artistic Producer Larry Beckwith. Suba Sankaran will remount her show Mandala: The Beauty of Impermanence on April 11th and 12th, which explores the mandala within music itself.

And finally, Teiya Kasahara 笠原貞野 presents Queens, Divas and Icons, Oh My! on May 22nd and 23rd, featuring the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Freddy Mercury, Cher, Kate Bush, K.D. Lang, and more.

Opera York is the professional opera of York Region. Founded in 1996 it presents full productions of traditional operas with chorus, orchestra and supertitles. Our home is the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, a theatre designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects and a perfect accoustic venue for full opera.

We are a platform for emerging Canadian opera singers, particularly from the York Region area and provide the York Region residents the opportunity to enjoy professional opera right in their community.
