TD Markham Jazz FestivalThe TD Markham Jazz Festival is an exciting and vibrant five-day event featuring well-known professional jazz musicians performing on three stages on beautiful Main Street Unionville in Markham. The festival starts on Wednesday, August 16 with a ticketed Opening Night concert, including a reception and silent auction, at the intimate Varley Art Gallery.
From August 17 to 20, Main Street comes alive with 30+ free performances all day and evening on outdoor stages, on the street, and in bars and restaurants.
Come and enjoy acclaimed Canadian and international artists performing all styles of jazz and blues. Early confirmed artists include Manteca, Shakura S’Aida, Barbra Lica, Paul Reddick and Monkey Junk, Carol Welsman, and Samantha Martin and the Delta Sugar.

Tafelmusik Baroque Summer FestivalMusicians from around the world gather in Toronto for the annual Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Festival with free concerts open to the public, featuring the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and participants of the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute. “Delightfully Baroque” on May 30 at Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre; “Musical Interlude” on June 4, “Many Strings Attached” on June 5 and “TBSI Orchestras and Choirs” on June 8 at Walter Hall, University of Toronto; and the Grand Finale on June 11 at Grace Church on-the-Hill. All concerts are general admission. Free tickets for the Grand Finale must be obtained in advance and will be made available to the public Tuesday, June 6 at 10am, at the Tafelmusik box office (427 Bloor Street W).

SweetWater Music FestivalSweetWater has a splash of maple for the 14th edition coming up this September. Artistic director Mark Fewer has once again assembled an amazing lineup, including baritone Russell Braun, John Novacek, James Campbell, Guy Few, Drew Jurecka, Edwin Huizinga and Aiyun Huang. Plus, a special all-Canadian lineup on Saturday night as Canada marks 150 years of Confederation. SweetWater 2017 also has free, interactive activities including Mozart for Munchkins, Classical Jam playalong, and a Luthiers Exhibit and Performance. Ticketed events include a Friday Night Opening Gala ($45); Saturday Early Evening Concert and Sunday Matinee ($35); and Saturday After Hours Jazz ($30). Festival 3-Concert Pass $105.
