Programmed in the spirit of celebrating Canada's 150th birthday, our six concerts offer a thrilling combination of exceptional music and musicians, thematically woven around different time periods in Canada's history. Entitled Picton 1867, Brass in the Park, Music for Peace - Remembering 1917, Bach's Goldberg Variations, Celebrating Canada's Founding Nations, and Bridges to the Future. Ottawa Chamberfest 1In a summer where Ottawa will be humming with activity, Ottawa Chamberfest presents a true showcase: curating what chamber music is, was, and is becoming, for the long-time fan and newcomer alike. Featuring Stephen Hough (July 23), the Miró Quartet (July 25), violin virtuoso Julian Rachlin performing Vivaldi and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons (August 1), and a unique full-album performance of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (August 4). Experience a two-week celebration of 500 years of music: July 22 to August 4, 2017. Founded in 1994, the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival brings together the boldest names in ensemble and solo performance in the nation’s capital. The world’s largest festival of its kind, Ottawa Chamberfest is a 2017 Festivals and Events Ontario “Top 100” Festival.

The OperaMuskoka Festival began in 2009 to provide young singers with an opportunity to train in and perform opera and classical music in the Muskoka area. One of the highlights of our eighth Annual OperaMuskoka Festival is Daevyd Pepper, one of our original young singers. He graduated this year from the U of T Faculty of Music with a Master of Music in Opera Performance. Daevyd is producing and will be performing in our opening night presentation of Puccini’s La Bohème on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. The festival now includes all the arts: vocal, instrumental, drama and visual artists.

Music at Port Milford2017 marks Music at Port Milford’s 31st year of bringing promising 12-to-18-year-olds with a passion for chamber music together with an internationally-renowned faculty to create an inspiring summer music experience. This experience is proudly shared with Prince Edward County, ON, as the students and faculty prepare vigorously for their multiple performances throughout July and August, bringing the highest-calibre chamber music to Ontario. This summer’s chamber music festival includes performances by the Cecilia String Quartet (July 22), the Afiara Collective (July 29), Marie Bérard & Friends (August 5), and the Tokai String Quartet (August 12).

Huntsville Festival of the ArtsCelebrating 25 years of presenting top quality international, national and local performing arts concerts, the Huntsville Festival has planned a special celebration season for this July and August. The opening night gala features The Canadian Brass, who opened the inaugural season in 1993. Conductor Kerry Stratton and the fully professional Festival Orchestra, a mainstay in the festival’s earlier years, will return with two concerts. The eclectic lineup features Colin James, Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy, Jesse Cook, country star Corb Lund and ageless rockers Lighthouse, along with numerous other great artists. Daytime concerts, children’s shows and the return of Nuit Blanche North are highlights.
