Amanda Tosoff & Jocelyn Gould
We will kick off the series with a special performance by 2022 JUNO nominated pianist Amanda Tosoff and Jocelyn Gould, winner of the 2021 JUNO award for Best Jazz Album.

Amanda Tosoff
Amanda Tosoff is a Toronto-based jazz pianist, composer, and educator (Humber College and MusicArtsCollective.com). She has received various honours, including the Montréal Jazz Festival Grand Prix de Jazz, the Toronto Arts Foundation Emerging Jazz Artist Award – and most recently, a 2022 JUNO nomination for her album Earth Voices. With her latest release, Amanda continues to pursue the creative and stylistic leap she began on her previous album Words, once again blending jazz, pop and art-song, as well as drawing on poetry with a deep personal and emotional connection. This summer, Amanda will be touring with 5 of the 16 guest artists on her album, including JUNO Award winning vocalist Emilie-Claire Barlow, saxophonist Allison Au, bassist Jon Maharaj and drummer Morgan Childs.
Jocelyn Gould
Jocelyn Gould has been called “a leader in the next generation of great mainstream jazz guitarists” by Howard Paul, CEO of Benedetto Guitars. Her joyful energy has captivated audiences around the world and her passion for music is infectious. She has absorbed the influences of the jazz guitar greats and has woven them into an exciting personal sound. Her unique ability to connect with audiences always leaves them wanting more.
Jocelyn Gould has performed internationally in the groups of Grammy nominated vocalist Freddy Cole, Trumpeter Etienne Charles and DownBeat Rising Star trombonist Michael Dease. She can be heard on albums lead by Michael Dease, Jon Gordon, Diego Rivera, Randy Napoleon and Will Bonness. She is the 1st place winner of the 2018 Wilson Centre International Jazz Guitar competition.
Jocelyn’s debut release as a leader, ‘Elegant Traveler’, was nominated for “Jazz Album of the Year” in the 2021 JUNO awards. Elegant Traveler showcases Jocelyn’s warm and inviting sound and melodic compositions with an all star band.
Jocelyn is a professor and Head of Guitar Department at Humber College in Toronto.
Jon Maharaj
Jon Maharaj is a JUNO award winning bassist from Toronto. He has performed / recorded with Amanda Tosoff, Allison Au, Emilie-Claire Barlow and many others. He was also the bassist in the Canadian company of the hit musical Come From Away from 2018-2021. Jon is an active educator as well, and is currently on faculty at Humber College and the University of Toronto.
Ethan Ardelli
Drummer and composer Ethan Ardelli has been one of Canada’s most acclaimed jazz musicians for more than a decade. Always a cultural omnivore, Ardelli has sought out inspiration in a wide variety of places, from art house films to classical composition and music from around the world, in particular the music of Cuba. After playing in many notable Canadian bands (David Virelles, Brian Dickinson, Nancy Walker, and Darren Sigesmund), Ardelli was primed to become a bandleader. His debut album, The Island of Form, is a showcase for Ardelli’s highly developed compositional skills and drumming prowess. The album was recorded by James Farber, the engineer behind many touchstone jazz recordings, including works by Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano, and Brad Mehldau. As well as leading his own ensemble, Ethan is a member of the Darren Sigesmund Quintet, Nancy Walker Quintet, Alexander Brown Sextet, Brian Dickinson Trio, and the Harley Card Quintet. Ethan is on faculty at the University of Toronto as well as the Humber College Community Music Program.
