Continuum Contemporary Music 2007-2008 MEMBER PROFILES   Continuum presents works by emerging and established Canadian and international composers. The core ensemble is made up of Anne Thompson (flute), Max Christie (clarinet), Benjamin Bowman (violin), Paul Widner (cello), Laurent Philippe (piano) and Ryan Scott (percussion), and is often augmented by voice, other instruments or electronics. The group has toured Canada and Europe, is heard on radio and television and recently released Sea Change, a CD of new discoveries and commissions.   Concerts in the 2007-08 season include works from the most recent Call for Scores and works discovered through research abroad, with commissions from Christopher Butterfield, Cassandra Miller, Justin Christensen, Gyula Csapo and Aaron Gervais. Concert dates are October 26, January 31, April 20 and June 8 (as part of the SoundaXis festival). This season Continuum also performs at the Royal Ontario Museum and on the Four Seasons Centre’s free concert series.      Now an institution, Continuum’s biennial Call for Scores is an important tool for discovering the latest generation of composers and emerging musics.  This year’s Call is all-Canadian – deadline November 1, 2007.   Jennifer Waring, artistic director 416-924-4945 administrator@continuummusic.org www.continuummusic.org
