The All-Canadian Jazz Festival Port Hope closes the summer festival season with a unique celebration of the finest in Canadian jazz. For six years the Festival has brought 15 or more of the country’s top jazz ensembles to a small town park, just an hour east of Toronto, the third weekend of September. The Festival has always featured well-known Canadian music veterans; we have also presented artists who are just beginning their rise to international prominence – both Sophie Milman and Kellylee Evans played here early in their careers. Nurturing the next generation is an important part of our mission, and each year the TD Canada Trust Young Jazz Showcase brings together some of the finest high school jazz players from across the country, for intensive mentoring with veteran musicians and two sets on our main stage. The All-Canadian Jazz Festival takes place in downtown Port Hope, only a short walk from Ontario’s best preserved heritage district, where clubs and restaurants complement the Festival with live jazz all weekend.
