This season The Aldeburgh Connection launches its second quarter century of concerts dedicated to song, featuring exclusively Canadian artists. Our Sunday Series begins on October 21 with “New York Exotic” and continues December 2 with “Miroir brûlant”, an exploration of the genius of Francis Poulenc. On January 13 we feature early 20th century English poets and composers, with an emphasis on the works of Walter de la Mare, and on March 2 present an all Richard Strauss programme. On April 27 we look at the fascinating world of Adelaide Sartoris, who sang the first London performance of Norma. We present two exciting recitals at the Glenn Gould Studio: our annual Schubertiad with Virginia Hatfield and Colin Balzer on November 28 and, on April 9, Nathalie Paulin and Anita Krauss singing French, German and Canadian songs and duets. And, our Discovery Series features talented young singers on the verge of important careers.
