Pax ChrisitiPax Christi Chorale, an 80-member community choir, founded 1987, builds on the rich tradition of four-part singing which is a vital part of Mennonite worship. Choristers are local Mennonites, as well as people from many different faith traditions and cultures. Membership is by audition and is open to anyone interested in the joy of serious choral singing.

The choir has performed some of the great choral masterpieces with orchestra, including Bach’s St. John Passion, Handel’s Israel in Egypt and Messiah, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Duruflé’s Requiem and Brahms’ German Requiem.

Conductor Stephanie Martin holds a Masters degree in Musicology from the University of Toronto, is Assistant Professor of Music at York University, co-winner of the 1998 OCF’s Leslie Bell Choral Conducting Contest, church organist, and performs with early music ensembles.

In 2003 the choir released its second CD, Seasons of the Spirit, a musical journey through the Christian year from Advent and Christmas, through Lent and Easter to Harvest, with guests Trillium Brass Quintet.

Information about our season is on the website.
