Opera Ontario is pleased to announce its Double Anniversary Season, commemorating a remarkable 25 years in Hamilton and 10 years in Kitchener Waterloo. Opera Hamilton and Kitchener Waterloo Opera support and enrich their communities by showcasing the finest operatic productions and developing Canadian talent for the stages of the world.
Donizetti’s light-hearted Don Pasquale opens our season October 16,21,23 (Hamilton)/ Oct 29 (Kitchener).
Our annual evening of Opera’s greatest hits “Popera” follows, November 25, 27 (Hamilton)/ November 28 (Kitchener) with four outstanding soloists. Chase away the February blues with a romp in exotic Turkey with Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio February 5 (Kitchener)/ February 12, 17, 19 (Hamilton)
We close our anniversary season with one of the most famous operas of all time – Bizet’s Carmen. April 16, 21, 23 (Hamilton)/ April 29(Kitchener).
