The Music Gallery is a publicly assisted centre for new music and music-related arts such as contemporary composition; free-jazz and improvisation; experimental pop and rock; classical and devotional musics of non-western cultures; electro-acoustic and electronic music; mixed and experimental media; and performance arts. Our partnership with St. George-the-Martyr Anglican Church continues into its fourth year. This groundbreaking relationship, developing the Church’s facilities as an important arts centre, while respecting its ecclesiastical function, was forged by our Artistic Director Jim Montgomery and Reverend Max Woolaver, incumbent at St. George.

Our season consists of some of Toronto’s most exciting and innovative concerts. Tickets are inexpensive, and membership includes discounted ticket prices. New programming includes the Pop Avant series showcasing avant-garde artists from the independent pop and rock communities; The Composer Now V.I.P. (Virtuoso Instrumental Performances) and ON TOUR series; the Italian Intensive (Italian new music since 1950); and a Residency with the Madawaska String Quartet. Outreach programming continues with the Music Gallery Institute’s Fresh Ears series of Sunday afternoon family-oriented concerts, and Wednesday afternoon Free Lunch Music series.
