The University of Toronto Faculty of Music is widely regarded as one of North America’s leading centres for the scholarly and professional study of music. For almost a century, many of Canada’s greatest musicians have studied and taught at the Faculty, including John Weinzweig, Lois Marshall, Elmer Iseler, Teresa Stratas, and the St. Lawrence String Quartet.

Every year the Faculty presents a concert season featuring its students, faculty and distinguished guests. The mission is to enrich the University and its surrounding community through music presentations that are the envy of many concert halls in their range and variety.

Highlighting the 2002-2003 season are appearances by mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne; composer Mario Davidovsky; violinists Lorand Fenyves, Pamela Frank and Scott St. John; organist Gillian Weir; pianists Claude Frank, Fred Hersch, and William Aide; flautist Susan Hoeppner; harpist Judy Loman; chamber ensembles Nexus, St. Lawrence String Quartet and the Gryphon Trio.
