The Toronto Philharmonia celebrates its 31st season with a 12-concert series of quality, affordable classical music.  As orchestra-in-residence in the acoustically perfect George Weston Recital Hall, Toronto Centre for the Arts, the fully-professional orchestra is led by charismatic Maestro Kerry Stratton.

Highlights of the 2002-2003 programme:  four of the Master’s symphonies, including the opening season concert, Beethoven’s Ninth with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir; all-Liszt and all-Tchaikovsky evenings; 3 concerts of light classics including “Faust and the Bard” featuring actor/narrator Sir John Neville and “Abduction from the Seraglio” (Mozart’s Harem Comedy) with actor Gordon Pinsent as Selim Pasha.

Concerts are Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., with one of the season’s two Christmas concerts on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The Toronto Philharmonia has an active youth outreach program, as well as a busy touring schedule in various southern Ontario communities.
