Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, led by Music Director Jeanne Lamon, is one of the world’s leading period performance ensembles.  The 2002/2003 season is filled with beautiful baroque music, from Bach to Zelenka.  Tafelmusik is thrilled to continue its 3-concert series at the George Weston Recital Hall, as well as the 10-concert series at Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre.

Highlights of the 2002/2003 season include Tafelmusik’s Toronto premiere of Haydn’s The Seasons at Massey Hall March 7 and 8, 2003; Handel’s recently-discovered Gloria with soprano Emma Kirkby; and The Four Seasons: A Cycle of the Sun – featuring movements from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons as well as music by traditional Chinese, Inuit and Indian performers.  This season also boasts internationally acclaimed guest artists, including Pierre Hantaï, Emma Kirkby, Andrew Manze, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, and Bruno Weil.  And no season would be complete without Handel’s Messiah at Trinity-St. Paul’s, followed by the rousing Sing-Along Messiah at Massey Hall.  Both of these concerts sold out in 2001, necessitating an extra Messiah concert on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
