Soundstreams Canada’s season opens with the resounding sound of University Voices November 3, 2002 including choral favourites, Barber: Agnus Dei and Gorecki: Amen plus a feast of new works.

Byzantine Festival Nov. 19/02 at St. Michael’s Cathedral 8:00 p.m., the music of John Tavener and Christos Hatzis performed by Tafelmusik Chamber Orchestra, Elmer Iseler Singers and the Amadeus Choir.

At the Glenn Gould Studio, the music of John Estacio and Augusta Read Thomas Feb. 6/03, 8:00 p.m. with Shauna Rolston, cello, the music of Serge Arcuri and Ingram Marshall with the Gryphon Trio.

Harry Somers’ Merman of Orford June 12-15/03 featuring Dancetheatre David Earle (original choreography by David Earle). 

Musicools, Soundstreams Canada’s festival of northern music, features outstanding works for children’s musical theatre. Performances from April 28 - May 11. A Midwinter Night’s Dream by Harry Somers, featuring the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, Caribou Song with music by Barbara Croall and story by Thomson Highway, Pacamambo from Chants Libres, Völuspa from Möguleikhúsið  (Iceland) and Voi Vietävä from Ooppera Skaala from Helsinki.
