Canada’s two premier concert halls present the finest performers of classical, pop, jazz, and world music from around the globe.
Roy Thomson Hall is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this season with a New Look and New Sound following its recent $20-million auditorium renovation.  Some of the international classical artists appearing in the newly-transformed Hall include mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli, Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Finnish soprano Karita Mattila, piano virtuosos Daniel Barenboim and Murray Perahia, cellist extraordinaire Yo-Yo Ma and his Silk Road Ensemble, violin sensation Sarah Chang, and the mighty Kirov Orchestra, led by the great Valery Gergiev.

Other season highlights include the return of legendary sitar player Ravi Shankar; an evening of “Shorts” featuring American composer Philip Glass and his ensemble performing new scores to original films by Egoyan, Greenway and others; a Buena Vista Social Club presentation with the renowned Cuban vocalist Ibrahim Ferrer; the much-anticipated Toronto appearance by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir after an absence of ten years, and a “once-in-a-lifetime” jazz concert at Massey Hall featuring Ellis Marsalis and his talented sons Wynton, Branford, Delfeayo and Jason.
