Opera Ontario is Canada’s fourth largest opera company, serving Hamilton (previously as Opera Hamilton) for 24 years and Kitchener-Waterloo for eight years. The 2002-2003 season continues with Opera Ontario’s mandate of bringing world-class opera and the finest singers to the South-Western Ontario Region. The Puccini favourite La Bohème launches the new year.  October 19, 24, 26 (Hamilton)/ November 1 (Kitchener); with Sally Dibblee, Mirela Tafaj, Marc Hervieux, Gregory Dahl, and Joseph Rouleau. 

Our annual evening of Opera’s greatest hits “Popera” follows. November 28, 30 (Hamilton)/ November 29 (Kitchener) with Laura Whalen, Kimberly Barber, the Mississauga Choral Society, and others. 

Lakmé makes its debut in English Canada on our stage. January 25, 30, February 1 (Hamilton)/ February 7 (Kitchener) and starring: Jane Archibald, Stuart Howe, Alfred Walker. 

Donizetti’s giddy La Fille du Régiment makes its debut on our stage to close our season. March 29, April 3, 5 (Hamilton)/ April 11 (Kitchener) with Tracy Dahl, Bruce Sledge, and Peter Strummer.
