Opera Mississauga’s  2002-2003 season consists of four fully staged works.

First comes Nikola Šubi? Zrinjski – by Ivan Zajc (Oct 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12), a popular Croatian opera based on the dramatic story of the death of Nikola Zrinjski IV at Siget in 1566.

The next production is La Bohème  (Nov 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30), Puccini’s bitter-sweet story of young love in the Latin Quarter of mid-19th century Paris.

Rossini’s The Barber of Seville will be performed Feb 21, 22, 23, 25, 27 & March 1.  The barber Figaro brings young lovers together in a comedy of disguise and manipulation.

Last is Verdi’s Il Trovatore (April 24, 26, 27, 29, May 1 & 3) -- lyrical solos, big choruses and crowd-pleasing finales in a rousing tale of revenge, mistaken identities and steadfast love.

The season also includes three Special Concerts: Night of a Thousand Stars (December 13 & 14); Tales from the Vienna Woods (January 31 & February 1);; and On the Wings of Song (March 27 & 28).

All performances take place in Hammerson Hall in the Living Arts Centre.
