Gallery at St. George
Jim Montgomery, Artistic Director Paul Hodge, Technical Director Clarissa DeYoung, General Manager 197 John Street (at Stephanie), Toronto ON M5T 1X6 Tel: 416-204-1080 Fax: 416-204-9986 E-mail: staff@musicgallery.org Web site: www.musicgallery.org The Music Gallery is a publicly assisted centre for the creation and performance of new music and music-related arts. We support the creation, performance and production of work in the following broadly defined areas: contemporary concert music; original, experimental and free jazz; the classical and devotional musics of non-western cultures; electroacoustic and electronic music; work involving mixed and experimental media; and performance arts. For the 2002-2003 season, we continue our partnership with St. George the Martyr Church. This ground-breaking relationship, which aims to develop the Church’s facilities as an important arts centre while fully respecting its ecclesiastical function, was forged by our Artistic Director Jim Montgomery and Reverend Max Woolaver, incumbent at St. George. Our season consists of approximately 50
of Toronto’s most exciting and innovative concerts performed by brilliant
and daring creators and performers. Tickets are inexpensive. We support
the cheapseats program. Membership is encouraged. This is where the concert
stage meets techno, east meets west and composition meets improv in an
atmosphere of celebration and mutual respect.
