Our vision is to challenge and thrill the world with operatic theatre through a passionate commitment to adventure, creativity, innovation and excellence.  Our 2002/2003 season opens with Tchaikovsky’s thriller The Queen of Spades and the much anticipated return of our Stravinsky double-bill, Oedipus Rex with Symphony of Psalms, direct from a triumphant appearance at the Edinburgh Festival.  In the winter we present the opulence of Verdi’s A Masked Ball and Janácek’s shattering Jen?fa.  To close the season next spring we have Puccini’s beloved Madama Butterfly and Rossini’s irresistible comedy The Italian Girl in Algiers.
