Opera in Concert is a unique Canadian company dedicated to Canadian Artists and innovative programming, defying traditional assumptions about operatic presentation, relying only on the power and beauty of the human voice accompanied by orchestra or piano.

Our season begins on November 4 with “A Mezzo Gala Concert,” featuring Marianne Bindig, Rebecca Hass, and Elizabeth Turnbull.  Next, on December 2, is Bellini’s La Straniera, featuring last season’s sensation Frédérique Vézina, along with Anita Krause, Stuart Howe and Sung Taek Chung, with Music Director Sandra Horst.  Verdi’s Nabucco follows on February 3, with Susan Eyton-Jones, Marc Boucher, Joel Katz, and Music Director Raisa Nakhmanovich.  OIC’s season finale features performances on March 16 and 17 of Handel’s Semele, featuring Tracy Dahl, Catherine Robbins, John Tessier, Alain Coulombe, and the Aradia Ensemble with Conductor Kevin Mallon. All opera performances also feature OIC’s renowned Chorus with conductor Robert Cooper.
