New Adventures in Sound Art is a non-profit organization that produces performances and installations of electro-acoustic and experimental sound art. By being the only organization in Toronto devoted to this practice, New Adventures in Sound Art educates local audiences through workshops, lectures and demonstrations that teach a new perception of sound.  Inspired by the dynamic movement of sound around us, New Adventures in Sound Art has developed the practice of octaphonic spatialization (or the movement of sound in space from eight loudspeakers) to re-evaluate the perimeter of space in musical experience.

With Sound Travels, an international series of residencies and concerts begun in 1998, the organization has toured Europe twice, presented concerts in Vancouver and Montréal and annually for three years in Toronto. The most recent Sound Travels event was Sept 1-2, 2001 at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts on Toronto Island. Upcoming events include Sound Play in the Spring 2002 with musical and theatrical performances, and the fourth annual Sound Travels series will return for more outdoor concerts in Summer 2002.
