(1999/2000
profile)
The Mozart Society offers its members good music, good company and good value: seven live concerts per year (Mozart, Haydn and contemporaries). We have presented internationally respected performers (Julianne Baird, Mark DuBois, Prazak Quartet, Colin Tilney, Tafelmusik Ensemble) and young Canadian artists (Isabel Bayrakdarian, Michael Colvin) and ensembles (Gryphon Trio). Concerts are broadcast by the CBC and CJRT-FM. The suggested annual membership fee is $50 (tax deductible) admitting a family to all concerts for a calendar year. New members for the year 2000, joining during this fall, are invited to the remaining four concerts of 1999, presenting the Amati String Quartet with Boris Krajny (piano) the mini-opera "Mozart and Salieri" by Rimsky Korsakov, The Amici quartet with Joaquin Valdepeñas (clarinet) and the winners of the Young Canadian Mozart Singers’ Competition. For next year we are planning seven concerts, including presentations by the Royal Conservatory Orchestra and the Toronto Choral Society choir. Please join. |
