Baroque Music Beside the Grange celebrates its sixteenth season of concerts in 1999-2000. Our series features some of Canada’s leading performers in the fields of Baroque and Classical music, and the lively acoustic and intimate setting of the historic Church of St. George the Martyr help to create an enjoyable and entertaining experience for audience and performers alike. The season begins on October 3 with a tribute to Salomone Rossi in a program of instrumental and vocal music in Hebrew and Italian. Other highlights: a pre-Valentine’s Day concert featuring the viola d’amore (!); the brilliant quintets for fortepiano and winds by Mozart and Beethoven; "Bach’s Lunch," devoted to the master’s chamber music; and music from 18th-century Germany, France Italy and England.
