Royal St. George’s College, Toronto, was founded in 1961 as an Anglican choir school. Composer Healey Willan was the first warden of the college and composed works specifically for the college.
The treble choir and the choir of men and boys have enjoyed extremely successful tours in Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Scandinavia and China. More frequent tours have been undertaken in Great Britain, where the choirs have performed concerts and sung choral services in many of the great cathedrals of Britain.
Two new CDs, one of Christmas music and another featuring music from recent tours in Spain and England, will be released this fall.
Douglas Jamieson, master of the choristers
